NYC to NOLA – My Heart is Full (of Fashion)!

September always has a way of sweeping us off our feet, and this year was no exception.

The ALG STYLE team kicked things off in the style capital itself, New York City, for Fashion Week, and wrapped things up right at home in New Orleans for our very own Fashion Week festivities. Two weeks. Two cities. Endless style inspo.

In New York, one of the absolute standout moments was catching Romey Roe’s show; what a joy to see his creativity light up the runway. It was extra special to share it with my daughter and some of our clients.

Between shows, we squeezed in all the fashion fun. We wandered into the J.Crew pop-up at 109 Bowery but first accidentally stood in line for a Supreme store, and somehow managed to miss Martha Stewart (still not over it). We spent hours treasure hunting through a vintage marketplace warehouse that felt like a style time capsule and had the chance to meet my favorite vintage handbag resellers, Holly’s Closet. Anna and Greer dove into the world of accessories at a wholesale hub—think TRENZ on steroids.

New Orleans Fashion Week brought its own kind of magic—equal parts creativity, community, and pure fun. Personal highlights included a special appearance by Nigel Barker, the striking designs of Jaeri Studios, the editorial and intentional styling of Margaret Sche of Saint Claude Social Club, and a heartfelt tribute to the legendary House of Broel.

We also made time for the Designers & Agents showcase, where fresh new brands gave us a sneak peek into the next wave of trends. By the end, our styling notebooks (and our camera rolls) were completely overflowing.

Of course, it wouldn’t be ALG STYLE at Fashion Week without a little sparkle off the runway too. Between real-life red carpet shenanigans and playing paparazzi with our bestie Sergio Arturo Photography, the week was as much about behind-the-scenes moments as it was about the shows themselves.

From the high gloss of NYFW runways to the soulful creativity of NOLA’s fashion scene, our back-to-back weeks were a whirlwind of inspiration. And while the outfits, accessories, and collections were fabulous, the best part was connecting with designers, makers, and fellow fashion lovers who keep this industry fresh and exciting.

Here’s to carrying a little sparkle from New York and a whole lot of soul from New Orleans into everything we do next.
